General
In a few months time you will be starting your GCSE courses at Unity College. This period of a student’s school life is called Key Stage 4. Students will follow the National Curriculum and will have some choice in the subjects that they would like to study at Key Stage 4. Students will be able to study up to five subjects in addition to the statutory subjects. Students will also have an opportunity to no longer continue with some subjects that they currently study. It is vital that you study a well balanced curriculum in Key Stage 4. Students will select seven subjects from the list on offer. It is hoped that students will be guaranteed to be offered five of the seven subjects. |
The decisions that you and your child make regarding these options may affect their future career pathway and it is vital that both you and your child are fully informed about the learning pathways on offer at Unity College.
The Government White paper has recommended the English Baccalaureate (e-Bacc) as a possible pathway for students. Unity College will ensure that all children who wish to follow this route will be able to. This will be a choice that you and your child will make.
This is the fourth year that we have run our options choices system online and it has proved to be a huge success. We expect that all students will submit their choices online again this year so that we can speed up the process and save a few trees along the way. The deadline for submitting your choices is 27th February 2013.
If you require assistance completing the online form please do not hesitate to contact Miss Gerrard.
