BIG Question Winners 
The week before last we asked you whether it was OK to download illegal videos and music from the Internet. Thank you for all your responses - we had some very thought provoking answers with good arguments against downloading but also some in favour of being able to download things for free. Obviously it IS illegal to download videos and music through illegal websites but this week we have decided to have three winners - two against downloading, and one in favour of downloading - just so that you can see both sides of the story.
Argument against illegal downloading:

I think illegal downloading copies of movies and songs from the internet is bad because if you are an artist and you want to try and get a number one single you might not be able to get it as many people would have downloaded your single illegally. It is the same with film industries and people associated with that business, they wont be able to get the right sales and probably wont get as many movie offers if they dont get dvd sales. And if you are an artist you might get dropped from your label if you dont get the cd sales.

No because the companies that make the films miss out on a lot of money - to survive they need this money, otherwise a producer could have a good idea for a film but he/she may be a first time producer, so they start off small but they can't because the small companies have been driven out of business by illegal downloads. Eventually the big companies will run out of business so there will be no films/music.
Argument in favour of illegal downloading:

Yes i do think its ok because if they are for your own viewing then its ok and you probably have to pay to download proper versions of DVD's and music anyway. But the problem is if you sell them which is ilegal. if you dont sell and its for you then its ok but once sold and caught you will have to pay the consequences. the industries could never be destroyed. yes the youth of today can dowload them off sites that dont have to be paid for. the solution then is to shut down sites that are not paid for monthly, that will stop companies and industries going down.
