Sports Day 2014
The event was another resounding success with the whole school celebrating the afternoon events. Several records went tumbling with exceptional standards set in several of the events including Leon Stubbs in year 10 (57 seconds for 400m), Connor Morris in year 11, 1.7m in the high jump, and Ben Larnach in the year 8 200m.

Due to Sports Day, this week we have special sports day stars of the week.
Mrs. Matthews has chosen Connor Morris for breaking 2 school records in the high jump and 200m;
Mr. Booth has selected Molly Fallows for her outstanding committment and effort to her house;
Mrs. Wignall has chosen Ben Larnach for his double record breaking achievement in the 200m and high jump;
Mr. Boardman has selected Thanakorn Natini for his excellent sports day costume;
Mr. Williams has chosen Holly Smith for her exemplary commitment to her house on sports day;

Tag rugby begins next week for the rugby team to begin some pre-season training in preparation for September. A full fixture list will be given to students before they leave in July.
Girls have competed and placed 3rd in the recent Burnley Schools Championships for year 9 with the year 10 team finishing joint second. Well done to all who competed.
